UHS 2017 Summer Reading FAQ

What do I need to do?
  1. Read a book. Either choose from the  list of recommended books at uhs2017summerreading.blogspot.com or use this Google Form to choose your own book.
  2. Complete one of the following activities and submit it by Wednesday, September 13, 2017. (More details about what to do and where to submit your work here.)
    • Discuss the book you read in the Summer Reading Google Classroom.
    • Write a letter to the person who recommended the book. If you selected your own, write a letter explaining why you would or would not recommend it.
    • Create a movie trailer for your book.
    • Create a social media feed that represents a character from your book or the themes of the book.
    • Create fanart or fanfiction based on your book.
Where do I submit my activity?
Use this Google Form. There is also a link on the summer reading website.
What is this worth?
Two points added to a quarter 1 grade of your choice.

Any other questions? Speak to Ms. Charpentier if you think of it before the school year ends, or email her at echarpentier@uxbridge.k12.ma.us.

Books
  • A selection of books with information on the serial killers Mrs. Lussier has suggested to you are on display in the library. Not every book has information on all the cases and individuals, so be sure to check the index or table of contents.
  • To look for books at the Uxbridge Free Public Library or the C/W MARS library system that can be placed on hold and sent to the Uxbridge library for you, locate your public library card and go to uxbridgelibrary.org. If you do not have a public library card, get an application from Ms. C or at the public library and visit with some form of identification.
