How Congress could fix copyright, now

Public Knowledge recently launched the Internet Blueprint, an ambitious project to develop bills that will help make the Internet a better place for everyone. The site consists of six new bills Congress could pass today, as well as a way for the public to submit and vote on their own ideas.

After studying copyright and fair use in class this trimester, our Information Literacy Skills/Research Methods students should find this project of particular interest!

The six new bills proposed aim to shorten copyright terms, stop abuses of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA), crack DRM, stop copyright bullying, and make "fair use" fairer.
