May 29 Book Club Pick

If you've been enjoying the recent popularity of post-apocalyptic dystopias like The Hunger Games and Divergent, join Book Club after school in the library on Thursday, May 29, to discuss dystopian novels and a classic of the genre: Jack London's The Scarlet Plague.

From Goodreads: The year is 2072, and the earth has been depopulated by a plague epidemic that struck in 2013. The victims of the scarlet plague are dead within an hour or less of the first symptoms appearing. 60 years later an old man, Professor James Howard Smith, attempts to pass the flame of knowledge to his reluctant grandsons, who have known only a savage existence in an overgrown world.

You can download a copy from Project Gutenberg, or stop by next week for a paper copy. Hope to see you then!

If you enjoyed the last book club pick, The Hound of the Baskervilles, try some of these other mysteries.
