September 21 - 27 is Banned Books Week

What if more than the cover was hidden? What if you couldn’t see what’s inside the book either?

Every book on the front display in the library has been banned or challenged somewhere in the U.S. - that is, someone has formally asked that it be removed from a library because of the content of the book. Scan the QR codes on the front covers to find out what ideas in these books have been challenged, and celebrate your right to explore tough ideas and questions through reading.

Visit the Banned Books Week site for more information and videos from this year's virtual read out, and check out the American Library Association's banned books site for more statistics on frequently challenged books.
