Getting the Most Out of a Public Library Card

September is Library Card Sign Up Month! Here's what you can access using a library card from the Uxbridge Free Public Library!

Uxbridge Free Public Library
  • Location: 15 North Main Street in the center of Uxbridge
  • Website: http://uxbridgelibrary.org/
  • Search for book titles, authors, and subjects: http://bark.cwmars.org/eg/opac/home?loc=125
  • Having a library card there is free, and allows you to:
    • Check out materials from the Uxbridge Free Public Library.
    • Check out materials from other C/W MARS libraries
    • Place books on hold. This means that if the Uxbridge library doesn’t have a book or it is already checked out, you can join a waitlist and another library will send a copy to them for you as soon as one is available.
    • Borrow eBooks on OverDrive.
    • Borrow eBooks on Hoopla.
OverDrive
  • Go to https://cwmars.overdrive.com/ and log in with your Uxbridge library card to borrow eBooks.
  • Just like at the public library location, you can place eBooks on hold and they’ll let you know when they are available.
  • You can either read eBooks in your browser, or download them to your iPad using one of OverDrive’s apps, Libby and OverDrive
  • Go to https://help.overdrive.com/ for help setting up an OverDrive account or using their apps.
Hoopla

The Uxbridge Free Public Library is currently conducting a community survey. Please go to this link and fill it out to help them plan for the future: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NW8BPQM
